Whether I’m editing YouTube videos from a mountain pass in Spain, making a coffee in the middle of nowhere or trying to keep every camera battery topped up before sunset, reliable power has become one of the most important parts of travelling in our motorhome.
Over the last few years I’ve tested plenty of portable power stations, but the BLUETTI Elite 300 is the first one that’s genuinely felt like a replacement for mains electricity in everyday van life and more importantly, offering the best value for money.
After spending time using it on the road, here’s why I think it’s one of the best-value portable power stations currently available.

When you’re working remotely whilst travelling, running out of power simply isn’t an option. We love staying on campsites, but these days, staying off-grid is more and more appealing.
That’s where the Elite 300 has really impressed me.
Despite packing over 3kWh of battery capacity and delivering 2,400W of continuous AC power (4,800W surge), it remains remarkably portable compared with many similarly sized power stations. BLUETTI markets it as the world’s smallest 3kWh portable power station.
It still has a reassuring weight to it—which you’d expect from a battery this size—but it’s much easier to fit into a campervan garage than many competing units. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not something you can just throw around, it does weigh a fair bit, but that’s a trade off camping and campervanners like me are more than willing to accept in return for so much power!

If you’re spending extended periods off-grid, being able to top it up from solar is a massive advantage. The Elite 300 supports multiple charging methods including AC, solar and vehicle charging, with solar input up to 1,200W depending on setup.

There are cheaper portable power stations available, but when you look at what you’re actually getting, the Elite 300 represents excellent value.
It has enough capacity to power the things that actually matter whilst travelling, plenty of output for higher-demand appliances and it’s compact enough that it doesn’t dominate your storage space.
That’s a combination that’s surprisingly difficult to find.
The BLUETTI Elite 300 has quickly become one of those pieces of kit that I simply wouldn’t want to travel without.
Whether we’re parked beside a beach in Spain, editing videos in the Scottish Highlands or spending a few nights completely off-grid, it’s given us the confidence to use the electrical appliances we actually want without constantly watching battery percentages.
For creators, digital nomads, campervan owners and motorhome travellers, it’s a seriously impressive bit of kit.
