We are really pleased with this Ultimate Guide to the Outer Hebrides. We have been visiting the Western Isles for a few years now but Robbie has found places and things to see that we have not come across. This is a really useful book for anybody visiting for the first time or more frequent visitors. So much information available, everything from where to eat and stay, and where toilets can be found – all essentials on the islands as anybody who has been will tell you. I like just how genuine in depth knowledge has been used to create this essential but no fuss guide. Travelling via motorhome, bike, car or on foot this is the book for you.

Unfortunately my copy arrived the day after we had set off on our trip – my bad as didn’t order it in time! However has been a great read on our return home and have marked a few places we did not have time for to see on our next visit. Bought this after seeing videos on You Tube. Bang up to date (received in September and latest info was the same month) and just before a trip to the Outer Hebrides. Layout simple and accessible. Very good advice on everything with excellent tips of places to visit. Our ‘go to’ book during a 9 day campervan trip. This would be useful for cycling Hebridean Way, especially as good suggestions for visits away from the main route. Photography is inspiring. One cautionary note to emphasise: if ferry cancelled for whatever reason you do not automatically get on the next one and may lead to unwelcome disruption to tight schedules.

This book seems to cut lots of corners for me and isn’t wordy so I’ve already worked through it cover to cover and will now get going with my deeper level of planning. I will take the book with us if I haven’t booked everything by the time we go as it has QR codes and 3word descriptors for campsites and similar. Works for me!

The book is quite detailed but the main criticism I have is the lack of QR codes to link to Google or Apple maps to help you get to the accomodations locations. The book makes a point of using QR codes for other attractions, why not accomodations it lists?
Other small points – dull (I e. matt) rather than glossy images . The book would have been better if ring bound to help keep it flat whilst reading

Good layout and useful book. However item was delivered in very obvious packaging which wasn’t ideal when I’d ordered this as a gift and i wasn’t at home when the postman arrived so the person who was to receive the gift saw it.

Only criticism I can find is the binding is so tight it’s difficult to keep open to read. Two hands are needed.
