What is the Causeway Coastal Route?
The Causeway Coastal Route is a scenic drive along Northern Ireland’s rugged northeastern coastline, stretching about 130 miles from Belfast to Derry~Londonderry. For e it’s one of the UK & Europe’s most underrated road trips! Renowned for breathtaking views, it links charming seaside towns, sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and historic landmarks. Highlights include the UNESCO-listed Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle, and the Glens of Antrim. The route also features Game of Thrones filming locations and vibrant local culture. With winding roads hugging the Atlantic Ocean, it’s celebrated as one of the world’s great road trips, combining natural beauty, rich heritage, and opportunities for adventure.
Causeway Coastal Itinerary - 4 Days
I’ve carefully curated this itinerary to include all of the Causeway Coastal Route’s MUST SEE LOCATIONS! The itinerary is based on a 4 day trip but could be extended to 5, 6 or 7 days for a slower pace. The itinerary runs from West to East. Starting in Derry and ending in Belfast, it could easily be done back to front. If you’re tackling Northern Ireland in your campervan, motorhome, tent box or general camping equipment, I’ve included some campsites too.
